We want everyone to experience the joy and beauty of the Blue Mountains: landscape, art, movement, weather, ritual, nourishment and complexity, together. We are a new festival, and we will get some things wrong in this space. Please tell us what we get right and what we can do better next time. Here are some definitions we are working to:
Wheelchair Accessible The venue has step-free, or effectively step-free, access to the areas used for the event, including toilets where stated.
Assisted Access The venue has genuine access barriers, such as steps, narrow doorways, unsealed paths, or no lift to an upper level, and a companion or venue staff assistance is recommended or required. Contact us to arrange a free companion ticket.
Information TBC We haven't yet confirmed this venue's access details directly with the operator. Please contact us, or the venue, before you visit if access is a factor in your decision.
Not Wheelchair Accessible The site cannot be reached or used by a wheelchair, even with assistance. Examples include an unformed track, steps with no alternative route, or terrain that isn't passable. This describes the path or terrain itself. Whether to attend is your decision.
Assistive Listening This symbol indicates a venue has a hearing loop or assistive listening system available if you are hard of hearing. These systems transmit sound from the event directly through your hearing aid, or through venue-provided headphones. Look for this symbol on event pages.
Quiet Space Open to everyone. A quiet space is available at the Blue Mountains Cultural Centre, a place to relax and take time out for anyone who needs it.

Superposition is providing an accessible bus service across all four festival days, 26–29 November.

If you need support travelling to any of our venues, call Transport for NSW on 13 22 32 ahead of your trip to arrange boarding assistance and check accessible facilities at Blue Mountains stations (Katoomba, Blackheath, Wentworth Falls, Lawson, Mount Victoria).
Penrith Regional Gallery — Wheelchair Accessible Ramps and walkways provide access to all gallery spaces and the surrounding garden viewing areas. Linden Observatory — Information TBC Heritage-listed private observatory, hosting a one-off ticketed Superposition performance. This is not a drop-in venue: access is by pre-booked appointment, run in partnership with the Western Sydney Amateur Astronomy Group (WSAAG). No accessibility statement is published for the site. Visitor guidance notes that closed-in shoes are required, that visitors may need to park off-site near the entry gate and walk in, and that the main telescope often requires climbing a tall ladder to reach the eyepiece. None of this confirms or rules out wheelchair access, so please contact us before booking if access is a factor. The Mechanics Institute, Lawson — Wheelchair Accessible Council-upgraded heritage hall with ramped access, an accessible toilet, and two accessible car spaces in the rear car park (enter via Yileena Avenue, off Orient Street). Civic Centre, Katoomba — Wheelchair Accessible Recently revitalised through a Council-led $1.5m upgrade (building remediation and precinct works), with ramp access from Katoomba Street.
Echo Point Viewing Platform — Wheelchair Accessible Large, paved visitor platform, fully wheelchair accessible, with two accessible toilets on site.
The Carrington — Assisted Access Heritage-listed hotel. Wheelchair access is via the adjacent undercover car park and an accessible ramp to reception, and an accessible toilet is available. Interior corridors and the lift are narrow and may not suit all wheelchairs, so the venue asks guests with specific requirements to contact them ahead of a visit. https://thecarrington.com.au/accessibility/
The Gully, Katoomba — Wheelchair Accessible The Gully Walk (car park on Gates Avenue) is led by Uncle David King. It is an easy 1km return track, paved and flat with some uneven surfaces. The Gully is a significant Aboriginal Place.
Varuna House — Assisted Access A separate, purpose-built accessible studio (the Jerra Studio) is on the property, with an accessible parking space and a level path. https://www.varuna.com.au/access-faqsThe main 1930s house is on one level at ground floor (lounge, library, dining, kitchen), with no lift or ramp to the upper floor, and the ground-floor toilet has not been able to be modified for full wheelchair access. A portable ramp can be arranged for entry.
Anvil Rock — Not Wheelchair Accessible Reached via an unsealed access road and roughly a ten-minute walk on a natural bush track from the car park. Not wheelchair accessible.

Govett's Leap — Wheelchair Accessible Fully accessible: step-free concrete paths from the car park to the lookout and facilities, flush toilets, and two accessible parking spaces. Rhododendron Garden — Wheelchair Accessible Campbell Rhododendron Gardens: a smooth, gently sloping path leads from the car park and information kiosk to an accessible lookout, with wheelchair-accessible paths to the toilets.
