Fieldlines presented by the Guardian: Power Botany Queer Bushwalking Club X Superposition
Solomon Frank is botanical guide and facilitator for regular walks through suburban fringe bushland in and around Sydney Eora. Power Botany is a regular community event for queers to meet and admire Australian ecology. Solomon started Power Botany to explore the often-overlooked pockets of surprisingly biodiverse bushland wedged between suburbs with likeminded peers, but also as a secret ponzy scheme to find a husband.
The Blue Mountains area is UNESCO world heritage listed partly because of the diversity of endemic Eucalyptus species. For Superposition, Solomon takes us on a bushwalk through a few of the special habitats unique to the upper mountains with a focus both on: [1] the amazingly diverse evolutionary adaptations of Eucalyptus species and on [2] friendship!

Solomon Frank is an Australian performer and composer based on Cammeraygal land, whose interdisciplinary practice spans cross-species musical collaboration, vacuum cleaners, and time travel — receiving emails from the future containing music and instructions from future humans and entities for him to perform in the present.
Solomon's improvisational practice expands the clarinet with hoses, vacuum cleaners, watering cans, and homemade reeds, reflecting what he calls a "dystopian nostalgia for the present." He is also undertaking a PhD exploring interspecies musical collaboration with dogs, questioning the human monopoly on musicality and creativity.
