Uncle David King leads a walk through The Gully, Gundungurra Country in Katoomba. Cleared for a racetrack in 1957, the site was handed back and declared the largest Aboriginal Place in NSW.
Uncle David has spent over two decades restoring it through Garguree Swampcare, and has extraordinary stories about this place to share with visitors.
Gundungurra Elder, GAHAI — foundational partner and cultural advisor. Uncle David is a Gundungurra Elder and a key figure in the stewardship of Gundungurra Country. He requires all participating artists to confirm Cultural impacts with the Gundungurra community before proceeding with creative work. He is also an existing staff member at Scenic World, positioning Superposition as deepening a cultural relationship the region already holds.
